Primary recruitment, which takes place at the beginning of every school year in the Fall, is the process by which undergraduate members of 17 of our NPC member chapters meet potential new members (PNMs) interested in joining the Panhellenic community. PNMs have the opportunity throughout this week long process to discuss with current members their sororities' values, ideals, and activities. This is the only opportunity where all Panhellenic chapters are taking new members during the year.
This year the dates will be September 5 - Sepember 11.
*move in for those staying on campus during recuruitment will be September 4

The primary recruitment period consists of four rounds: Community, Philanthropy, Membership and Preference. In each round, PNMs will talk to fewer sorority organizations as they and the sororities narrow their options.
Following Preference Round, a PNM may be extended an invitation to join one of our chapters.

Registration for Primary Recruitment is $60.00

Registration will be open until August 15, 2025

The cost of recruitment housing is $579.00 which includes 7 nights of lodging (September 4-11) and $211.87 on a dining card which can be used during the same dates. 

Once the link to sign up for recruitment housing is ready it will be sent directly to you. 

PNMs are also welcome to commute during the week of recruitment although we would encourage you to consider recruiting distance / traffic as recruitment days are long and often start early and end late.  The 2025 Recruitment schedule is still being finalized but you can find the 2024 schedule here - they don't change much from year to year. 

Sorority Housing Information:

New members who participate in primary recruitment at the UW get to move into their chapter house at the conclusion of primary recruitment. This is the expectation of our chapters for all new members.

New freshmen and transfer students who register for recruitment will automatically have their HFS housing application cancelled if you have one in place. 

• HFS will refund your $500 deposit
• You are guaranteed a space if you apply for on-campus housing after having participated in recruitment and withdraw or are released

First year & transfer students are not able to keep your HFS contract and participate in primary recruitment. 

Returning students

• If you have an on campus housing contract: you must cancel your own HFS contract and will be subject to cancellation fees. You do not have guaranteed housing on campus if they do not join for any reason. 
• If you have signed a lease off campus: you will be required to move into the chapter house, if you join a housed chapter. Chapters are expecting new members to move in and do not make exceptions for those who have an off campus lease.
